Its bridge type is a dual-purpose steel truss cable-stayed bridge for both public and railway use, and the railway is of Class I with double tracks; The highway has 4 lanes, with a width of 18 meters for the roadway and 1.5 meters for the sidewalks on both sides. The highway is on the upper level, and the railway is on the lower level. The railway bridge is 10616 meters long and the highway bridge is 6078 meters long, including 2193.7 meters of river crossing bridge, 36 kilometers of approach bridge, with an investment of 6.1 billion yuan. The Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge officially started construction on March 22, 1997 and was completed and opened to traffic in September 2000.
