Huaneng Pingliang Power Plant is located in Pingliang City, Gansu Province, with a first phase installed capacity of 4 × 300000 kilowatts. It is a backbone power plant of the Northwest Power Grid and one of the largest thermal power plants in Gansu Province. Since its commissioning, the plant has generated over 50 billion kilowatt hours of electricity, and its technical indicators rank among the top in the same industry in Gansu Province. Huaneng Pingliang Power Plant is a large-scale pithead thermal power plant located in Shilipu, Pingliang City, at the border of Shaanxi, Gansu, and Ningxia. Pingliang City is located in the eastern part of Gansu Province, at the intersection of Shaanxi, Gansu, and Ningxia provinces (regions), spanning the Longshan (Guanshan) Mountains. It borders Xianyang City in Shaanxi Province to the east, Dingxi and Baiyin in Gansu Province to the west, Baoji and Tianshui in Shaanxi Province to the south, and Guyuan in Ningxia Province to the north.
